Fiona Reid

Fiona Reid has worked as a freelance natural history illustrator for 15 years and has had illustrated numerous books, magazine articles and encyclopedias. In recent years she has focused on mammals with special emphasis on bats and rodents. Her illustrated works on mammals include: "Mammals of the Neotropics", " A Peterson Field guide Coloring book of Mammals", "Bats of Papua New Guinea", "A Golden Guide to Bats of the World". Fiona recently completed "A Field Guide to the Mammals of Central America and Southeast Mexico" of which she is the sole author and illustrator. Unlike previous field guides for this region this book covers all species of mammals, most of which are illustrated, including 11 color plates of bats. In her research for this book Fiona captured and painted from life over 80% of the 135 bat species found in Central America and S.E. Mexico. Fiona lives in Toronto with her husband, young daughter and younger son.
